We’re waiting; waiting for Hurricane Sandy to appear. For the last few days that’s all the news has talked about. You’d even swear the election was over there’s so much Sandy coverage! I have my water, food, and batteries. Now, we wait.
I’ve been slacking on the blog lately. I don’t have a good excuse so I’m not going to make one. I’ve been lazy. Following with the lazy thing, I’m looking forward to sitting on my couch with a book or two. There’s nothing like bad weather to inspire some reading. I have The Courtier’s Secret by Donna Russo Morin to keep me company later today.
This morning, I need to work. That means this is the end of this post. I’d like to get as much done as possible so I have the whole evening to read.
I wish you all happy reading today.
If you’re in Sandy’s path, stay safe.
I’m in the path and we are experiencing just the outer bands right now in Va Beach. It was fun earlier this morning and I even got a quick run in. We all just went down to the beach to see how crazy the waves are, and the water is all the way up to the boardwalk, which is a bit nuts. Full brunt of the storm won’t be until tonight, though.
I’m reading The Twelve right now, sequel to The Passage, and it’s not too bad so far. I wish I had read The Passage again since it’s hard to remember everything from two years ago!
Stay safe as well!
We haven’t seen anything yet but the clouds are moving in and the winds are picking up. The city declared a state of emergency already and is planning for major flooding. Could be interesting later. Lots of sirens already and we haven’t even seen rain yet.
I put off reading The Passage (don’t remember why) but with everyone talking about The Twelve, I now want to read it! Hmmm. If I’m stuck inside I may have to do some downloading.
I went to the library early this afternoon to stock up on my hurricane reading! I am secretly hoping, though, that I can induce my friend to come visit me tomorrow and we can watch The Vampire Diaries until the power goes out. But I think my large supply of books and nonperishable food items are a solid plan B.
Hope the power stayed on long enough to watch The Vampire Diaries. 🙂
